My mother used to say, “Be mindful of what you’re doing, Bobby.” She was telling me to pay attention.

I think it safe to say that for most of us, growing up was challenging at times. What with so many things to learn and the body constantly morphing into new sizes and shapes, we were sometimes introduced to a new Self every other day. And should I even mention hormones!

But so far we’re still here, you and I, and when we are mindful we continue to grow—to become more than we were. I don’t know your experience, but for me many of my mother’s admonitions have served me well. Being mindful is right up there with the best of them. It just might head the list, because being truly mindful of something opens it up and lets you see inside. Sometimes we discover things that we couldn’t even imagine before.

Mindful hours are well-lived hours full of discovery, deeper understanding, revelation—connectivity.
